Latest Ear Addiction: Drone

Filed under: Electronic Music, Uncategorized — Tags: — Dan @ 11:54 am

My latest ear addiction is Drone, and there isn’t even a damn CD yet. Drone is an electronic music artist in the glitch style. It’s very cool, catchy and progressive stuff.

There’s a very cool video by Drone of the song Strange Craft on Youtube, and below for lazy people:

Drone also has a Myspace page where you can listen to the following tracks:
Pulsar
Robotic Fantasy
Strange Craft
Floorrocka
World Trade Center
Healing My Toothache

Now I don’t have a MySpace account mind you (yeah, the only one?) so I can’t contact Drone to beg for a CD of his stuff. Shit, I’d pay if I knew who to pay. So, Drone, if you’re reading this, put some info up on your MySpace site on how to get a CD or email me at dan AT agentdesign.net. There’s money waiting for you.

Future Bed

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dan @ 8:11 am

I should be living in the future, no way ’round it. I see stuff like this futuristic bed and realize I’m in the wrong time. It’d go well with the milk table and music chair.

Sony’s affordable Blu-Ray Player

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dan @ 6:52 pm

If you’ve been waiting for HD DVD or Blu-Ray players to get more affordable before purchasing, today’s your day. Sony’s newest Blu-Ray player (the BDP-S300) will be $599. This seems high for a player when you consider that you can get a decent DVD player for about $100, but if you’ve already dumped cash into a nice HDTV, then getting the most out of it with a Blu-Ray player has a definite appeal.

If you buy it, cross your fingers that Blu-Ray beats out HD DVD in the format war, or you just bought a $599 betamax.

Oil from plankton.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dan @ 9:52 am

The upside to the high gas prices is that more companies are poping up trying to find alternatives, both alternative fuels to oil, and alternative means of making oil.

This story is the latter. Bio Fuel Systems, a Spanish company, has come up with a way of getting oil from plankton using an electromagnetic field, solar energy, and the magic of photosynthesis.

The company has not refined the crude oil product yet, but do claim that it is better for the environment as it is more productive, contains fewer contaminants, and would reduce CO2.
